Thanks a lot for posting that, after I watched Death Note I immediately thought of many other things that could have happened, besides Light’s lackey messing it all up! If LIght was going to ask to be killed, it should have been because he was capture was immenent, not because he was “tired of killing”.
That’s a great ending, not to say the original intended ending is bad by all means it’s a great ending and all but WOW.
Does anyone know if this is an offical extra from the creators or from a Doujin artist? Seriously I want know! Either way great discovery, someone should show this to the creators of Death Note, I’m sure they would get a good laugh out of this. XD
well this is way better cause if light was gonna have to go through all of that any way. its better to just have Ryuk kill him so Near wouldn’t get the pleasure of seeing him lose
this ending is just awesome! shows how story continues even after Light’s death, in other words, Light’s sake will never end!!! Oh I almost forgot, Bojjaann the song is Home – Three Days Grace

@Aicirt8 yeah and also, Light would never ask ryuk to save him in this kind of situation even though he did it in the final episode but in that circunstance he was practicly out of his mind because of all the blood he was spilling
@FuzzyketchupTuts When Light talked with Ryuk in the beginning, Ryuk told Light that the ORIGINAL owner, the one who first accepts and uses the Death Note, can’t go to heaven or hell. That means that anyone who uses the Death Note after Light won’t go to the Shinigami world, so Raye Penber and Takada are safe but Misa isn’t.
The only thing I’ve noticed with this ending is that it implies after you die for all the people you kill, everything you did is erased. Because of that it would make the entire story line corrupted after Raye Penber. When he wrote the name of the 11 agents and his boss, he killed 12 people. The case went on for years after that. That’s why I believe this ending was not chosen. Anyone can see this ending has more people in favor, but it has a huge plot hole involving why Raye wasn’t forgotten.
@2071Johnny Ha ha ha ha hah! You are correct indeed. At a rate of death like that, Light Yagami would indeed mirror Kenny as a character who died repeatedly. Of course, in the end, Yagami’d come out on top for having the highest owned count. An amusing observation, nonetheless.
S Obata had no part in this alternate ending at all!? That sucks!
Only the more reason for someone to get permission to create this alternate ending in the anime, prompting the beginning of a new spin-off series, where Light actually wins in the end. It’s HIS show after all (and not OUR universe)……..
